Stewart Levett - Professor, 9th Degree

With over 35 years of Martial Arts experience, Professor Levett is uniquely qualified to provide you with the training you need. Whether a beginning student or one with previous martial arts training, the Universal system has been successful at training thousands of students throughout the world.

Children with attention deficit and those with hyper-activism often excel in our program as the caring, nurturing approach taken by our instructors is often the key to their success.

Professor Levett holds a degree in education and started his training in January 1986 under Professor Garland R. Johnson. Mr. Levett was promoted to the rank of Black Belt in December of 1989 and opened the Westside Branch of Universal Kempo Karate in October 1990. Mr. Levett was promoted to 9th Degree Professor on September 27, 2018.

Professor Levett considers it a privilege to provide his students with the skills, tools and love of the martial arts that can make you a black belt leader. Your decision to train with him or at any of the other Universal Kempo-Karate Schools in Colorado Springs is a decision that will change your life.

John Thomas II earned his 3rd degree black belt in July, 2014.

“JT” has returned to continue his training with Professor Levett and to share his knowledge of kempo, jiu jitsu, aikido and other martial arts skills with his fellow students at the Westside branch.

William Montross started his kempo training with Professor Levett in January, 2010. Dr. Montross was promoted to black belt in 2019 and obtained his 1st Degree rank in 2021.

His skills will help you achieve your goals in the martial arts while making your training fun, exciting and rewarding.

Dr. Montross along with Professor Levett teaches the adult classes.

Mary Randa started her kempo training with Professor Levett in July of 2015. Mary was promoted to the rank of black belt 1st degree in 2022 and teaches the advanced junior classes on Tuesday & Thursday. Mary’s skills and patience as a professional and mother makes her an excellent instructor for kids of all ages.
